Because our clients use plastics to save lives, help people communicate and make daily life easier and more convenient. Plastic is everywhere in our society and contribute to the development and technological breakthroughs. It’s an extremely versatile material that can be fitted with avariety of properties, depending on the task the plastic component is designed for. RESOURCE-EFFICIENT MANUFACTURING Talent Plastics keeps things in order and is constant- ly looking for improvements – in all processes and practices. We are actively working to prevent pollu- tion from our plastics manufacturing and we strive to utilize materials and energy as efficiently as possible. For many years, we have invested in energy-efficient equipment. Our units are ISO certified (environment and quality), and ourwork environment is clean, fresh and of high standard. WE LIKE CLIENTS WITH HIGH DEMANDS Our clients operate primarily within the automotive, marine, HVAC, infocom, medical, engineering, furniture and home appliance industries. And of course we provide a responsive customer service. 4 PLASTIC IS A FANTASTIC MATERIAL. Plastic is a material that is still used a lot in production and might be perhaps the only material that enables to produce a particular part or product. So why plastic, more specifically thermoplastic? • Useful combination of properties (physical strength, cor- rosion resistance, electrical insulation, elasticity, chemical resistance • Can be scrapp d and reused • High speed in production • Many options for moldability to reach complex forms • Low scrap rates What is injection moulding? Today the main technology, that Talent Plastics Tartu uses in production, is injection moulding. In simple words, it is a technology, where plastic parts are shaped by injecting heated raw aterial into a mould. One crucial part of the process is creating the right tool. Suffice to say that each mould is „custom made“ and can have their own specific features. Only when the tool is ready and adjusted according to the machinery it is possible to start production. During injection moulding, the main steps are: Mould closes injection cooling plasticizing the resin Mould opens ejection WHY THERMOPLASTICS? 2
